Recycling helps save resources by giving more life to materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill.
Some items, such as clothes, can get more use by someone else while others are used to make new items, reducing the need for extracting new natural resources. Many items can be put in curbside recycling, but a number of places take items, such as e-waste, that are recyclable but not accepted curbside. A number of materials are considered hazardous and should not be placed either in recycling or in regular trash.
Help us keep this list up to date: If you know of additional locations that accept recyclable items or find that one of our listed locations no longer accepts particular items, please send us an email so that we can update our list.
When setting out your recyclables for curbside pickup, remember not to bag them but leave them loose in a container.
Plastic bags have to be ripped open by hand at the recycling center. Also the plastic bags themselves are not recyclable curbside and can clog the sorting machinery.
