When packing up the food for take-out, many restaurants’ default is to throw a bunch of plastic utensils and napkins in the bag. If you are just taking the food home to eat and don’t need the utensils and napkins, let the restaurant know. When you call to place your order, ask them to not include the plastic ware. This will help reduce the amount of unused plastic entering the waste stream.
